Janet O. Onabanjo was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria to a family of six on the 4th of February 1993. At the tender age of eight years old she relocated to the United States. Growing up in a diverse populated country was a blessing for me because she got the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge in which I was able to utilize in my daily path to success. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, traveling, volunteering, and styling. Particularly, she has a passion for music and fashion. She also believes that music is the universal language that all human speaks, and it possesses a therapeutic essence that touches the soul. Her belief is that part of the reason we are created is to help one another, and her special way of doing this is through fashion, by giving clothing items and styling others to make them feel warm and cared for. She is of the philosophy that there is no right or wrong way when it comes to fashion, fashion is absolutely individualized.
Her extracurricular activities include volunteering in the local city rescue shelter and gathering both food items and clothing’s for individuals that are in need. She is a firm believer that education is not the only way to be successful in life, but It is essential to have. With education comes knowledge, and with knowledge comes power. An educated individual has the ability to think for themselves, the ability to think is power which leads to positive changes.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from North Carolina Central University and upon graduating from College she was fortunate enough to obtain a post-graduate internship in clinical research in which I gained a scientific publication and she was retained for a permanent employment shortly after. Currently she holds a position as clinical research data researcher technician at Duke University Hospital. Her future aspiration is to obtain a Doctorate degree in medicine, to be a primary physician specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN). Her goal is to further my education and to utilize the knowledge gained to be successful in my professional career.
