Biography
Passionate about meeting new people, creating new initiatives and the advancement of people, Joycee Olayinka Awojoodu consistently strives to play an active role in her community. Having held numerous leadership positions, serving as the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) chair to the state of Maryland government, Site-coordinator of Lemmel middle school mentorship program; which reaches out to inner city youth, student delegate to the board of directors at her alma mater, and several others, she persistently seeks to contribute to the welfare of people in any capacity that she can.
Joycee Awojoodu, was born on January 13, 1986 in  Washington DC. From a young age her parents instilled in her and her three siblings the importance of earning an education, setting goals and pursuing her dreams. Embracing the lessons learned, she graduated from Goucher College in May 2007 earning two Bachelor’s degrees, in Business Management as well as in Economics. Utilizing her background in business, she aspires to one day have a premier networking company which will connect people of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences while enabling them to reach a common ground. Joycee currently resides in New York City where she works as a pricing associate for a Fortune 100 energy company. In addition to her community activities, she loves traveling, spending quality time with her beloved family and friends and educating herself on business topics and concepts. With every new opportunity that presents itself, she lives and breathes Philippians 4:13 which says “I can ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” Joycee Awojoodu will represent Enugu State in the 2008 Miss Nigeria in America Beauty Pageant.
