Biography

Filled with an undeniable zest for life, Chinyere Ifeoma Nwabugwu is the second of four blessed children. She was born 22 years ago in Lagos Nigeria to Engr. and Dr. J. Nwabugwu and was raised mainly in Warri - a small town along the estuaries of the Niger Delta. She lived a number of years in the Netherlands and has also visited seven countries around the world. She currently resides in Bakersfield, California.  In 2006, after three and a half years of undergraduate studies, Chinyere graduated from Louisiana State University with a double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering and minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. Chinyere gracefully represented her peers at their graduation ceremony as the class valedictorian; incidentally, she was also the youngest graduate of the College that semester. While in college, she served in Student Government as a College of Engineering Senator and was the Vice President of the Society of Women Engineers. She was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society and many others.
In the Fall of 2008, Chinyere will go on to pursue graduate studies in engineering at the prestigious Stanford University.  Full of confidence and faith in God, she strongly believes that He has brought her this far. She hopes to inspire young girls who have an interest in male dominated fields to follow their dreams. One of her life goals is to ensure that Nigerian girls are given a right to education and thereby the key to tap into a wealth of opportunities. She is currently completing her second year as an Automation Engineer for Chevron.  Chinyere Nwabugwu will represent Adamawa State in the 2008 Miss Nigeria in America Beauty Pageant.
