Biography

Chikodi Ogwuegbu is the proud daughter of Richard and Augustina Ogwuegbu. She is currently a senior majoring in criminology. This compassionate and gracious young who has a heart for the less privileged says that knowing that there are people less fortunate than her makes her very ambitious in life, which is the reason she plans to become a human right attorney as she hopes to graduate from law school in 2012.
Some of the things she has been able to accomplish through the help of God and hard work include winning the "Rookie Team of the Year" in a national debate camp that was hosted by University of Vermont during her high school years. She has also won other awards including "Women of the Year" for her senior year at John Marshall High School. AHANA Mentoring Program, an organization at her University, made her its "Mentee of the Year" during her freshman year. She is a recipient of “Who’s Who among Students In American Universities & Colleges” award. Her excellent academic performance in her major qualified her for membership in Sociology’s international honor society, Alpha Kappa Delta.
Some of her future goals include constructing water wells in Nigerian villages. She also plans on starting a clothing line that will donate all of its profit to charitable activities. Chikodi Ogwuegbu will represent Akwa Ibom State in the 2008 Miss Nigeria in America Beauty Pageant
